Transition week is going great. On Monday and Tuesday we talked about being a bucket filler, warm fuzzies, and how to follow the classroom rules. We read a couple of books that talked about getting along and helping one another. Wednesday we read a couple books about being different, unique, and how we all get along in the classroom. We decorated ourselves on little people and then drew a pictures showing us at home and at school.

Last week got away from me and most of this week. We have been very busy practicing our play for Parent's Day and a special gift. That why there hasn't been many photos. Last Friday we celebrated Taylor's Birthday with cupcakes and Ice Cream and Monday we celebrated Theo's with cupcakes. Thank you for all the wonderful treats. Last week we spent a lot of afternoons at the Green Street Park. Here is a little of the fun..... Monday was absolutely gorgeous. We were introduced to our new play for Parent Appreciation Day and given our parts. After reading the story that goes along with our play we went to the park. We had a great time running around playing at Green St. Park. After nap we quickly got up and went right back outside. Today We rehearsed our play once and then went back to Green St. Park. It was so nice outside and we got back before all the rainy clouds moved in. We are loving May so far.
Cannot believe we are in the last week of April. May is almost here. The warm weather should be here any day right?
Monday the boys and girls talked about sowing God's Gifts. They centered most of their centers around gardening. They opened a flower shop, planted beans in soil, made pictures using gardening materials. Tuesday and Today Ms. Tina read a book about loving the alphabet. They practiced identifying and writing the letters they have already learned. They chose some of their favorite letters and glued them to a heart. They also stamped letters into play dough. Mr. Will talked about the state of Wisconsin and the importance of cows. They listened to a couple of books about farms and cows. Their centers were focused around cows and farms. They colored, cut, and glued a picture of a cow, they built farms for the cows out of blocks, and they played with cows in beans. Today we decided to talk about our Earth and ways to help keep it clean. We read some books about the importance of recycling. We set up centers that were centered around our earth. We also got to celebrate a birthday today. Happy Birthday to our sweet Grace! I love every moment I am at work. I love watching all the boys and girls explore and learn at the same time. Today we reviewed bucket filling and our warm fuzzies. We re-read the book Have you Filled a Bucket Today. We also worked with a partner and made trees that are hanging outside of our classroom. Make sure you check them out. Here is a link to download our Solution cards and our caterpillars for warm fuzzies if you would like to use them at home. For some reason I cannot find my document on the caterpillar. I will scan and attach tomorrow. Our Solution cards are cards we use to solve problems we might have when playing, working, or anytime. The boys and girls have done really well with these. They go on their own when they have a problem when playing with one of their friends. We are back to work!
Now that the art show is over we are back to our normal routine. It is lesson time! Today Mr. Will talked about Detroit, Michigan and Mo-Town. They listened to a story and music that was classics in Detroit, Michigan. They built a city of blocks to represent Detroit and decorated their own records. A very Happy Birthday, tomorrow, to Ms. Ella! She brought us some yummy cupcakes to eat. They were delicious. Today we went for a little walk to get some fresh air. We talked about Alaska for the art show and what art we will be making for the art show. Sorry parents there as not been a lot of pictures. We want the artwork to be a surprise during the art show, so if i was to take pictures and post them showing your children working on them, they would not be a surprise. You will just have to wait for the art Show. Reminder, Easter Eggs need to be brought in by next Wednesday. The Egg Hunt is scheduled for Thursday April 2. |
